What I am offering here is simple. Email Basically
you request an address which may be of the form yourname@bappoo.org. bappoo.org is currently powered by Google apps standard. This means a limitation of 50 email addresses. You will then be given a Google mail box which can be accessed from http://mail.bappoo.org or from the landing page of www.bappoo.org. This email address can further be linked to a Google Account or simply set to forward any emails sent to the bappoo.org address to an existing mailbox. For
example, you requested yourname@bappoo.org; emails sent to this address
will then be forwarded to your current personal email address such as
yourname@somehost.com Because email for bappoo.org is powered by Googlemail you also have the option to receive mail from any POP3 enabled accounts such as Hotmail/MSN/Live/Yahoo etc directly. A subdomain with redirection or using Google Sites. This means you will have a subdomain such as yourname.bappoo.org which will redirect to your personal site of choice. The redirect types available are: URL
Redirect - this means when somebody types yourname.bappoo.org in the
address bar they will be taken to your personal site and the address in
the address bar will change to that of your personal site which may be
for example, yourname.somehost.com etc. URL
Frame - this means when somebody types yourname.bappoo.org in the
address bar they will be taken to your personal site and the address in
the address bar will remain as yourname.bappoo.org throughout that
particular session at your site. Other Redirection available are as follows: I
will not explain these as I expect that the above two(especially URL
Frame) will be the ones used all the time and If you are requesting
the ones below, I will assume you know what they are and why you need
them (for example CNAME may be used with blogger). A (Address) CNAME (Alias) TXT Record Advanced redirection: URL Redirect (301) NS Record AAAA (IPv6) I am currently using the free DNS management service from my registrar. Due
to certain limitations, if you would like yourname.bappoo.org as well
as www.yourname.bappoo.org (there is a difference which I am not going
to explain here), the number of available subdomains is restricted to
25. If you want only one or the other, the number of available
subdomains will increase. This is allocated on the basis that an active/maintained site will be published to the subdomain. If there are a large number of requests, I will look into moving the DNS management to provide more subdomains. There is also an option to use Google Sites to create your website and set up mapping within Google to forward directly to the site. |
